Mrs Jo Bishop

Administrator

I have been working as an administrator in care homes for 7 years and really enjoy the environment, getting to know the residents and helping to make their quality of life in their later years the best it can be. In my spare time I enjoy travel (I have family in Ibiza), reading and my grandchildren but my biggest passion is motorcycling and motorsport. I have my own motorbike and ride with a group of friends who attend events and raise money for the Air Ambulance. I love watching Formula 1 and British Superbikes and attend race meetings when funds allow.

Mrs Jayne Burgess

Deputy Manager

Hello my name is Jayne and I am one of two Deputy Managers at Elm Bank. I started my career in Care at the age of 25 starting as a Carer and progressed to Senior Carer, Head of Care and then as Deputy Manager. I first worked at Elm Bank in 2013 and left in 2015 to pursue another opportunity but returned back to Elm Bank in 2017 as I really missed the wonderful environment, my colleagues and of course our lovely residents. I really enjoy working on the units supporting our residents to live a fulfilled life and also supporting our care staff who do a fantastic job. Working with residents living with Dementia is my passion and I really enjoying making a difference to their day and seeing happy faces brings a smile to my face.

Miss Sonia Connelly

Head Chef

Hello I’m Sonia and I am the Head Chef at Elm Bank. I gained my level 1 & 2 Catering and Hospitality Diploma in 2014 and started working at Elm bank as a Kitchen Assistant. In 2015 I progressed to Assistant Chef then Chef in 2016 and Head Chef in 2018. I really enjoy spending time with our residents to discuss what their favourite foods are and then providing excellent standards of high quality fresh food. I love making cakes (especially for their birthdays) and our residents always look forward to our afternoon tea with freshly made home made cakes.
