I have worked as a Primary Care Manager for the NHS for 20 years.  I have worked as a Practice Manager for the last 11 years working for a single handed GP and a large Multi Partner GP Practice.

I joined The Spires in November 2018 as a Practice Manager.  I am responsible for all day to day management of the Practice.  This includes Business Administration, Finance, HR, Premises Management and Patient Services.

Outside of the Practice I enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren, reading, eating out and travel.

With several hundred patients with asthma and /or Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease registered with the practice, we offer a special service.  Our nurse is trained in the management of asthma, including childhood asthma and emergencies.  Apart from visits to your doctor when you have particular problems, we encourage all patients with a diagnosis of asthma or COPD to attend our nurse-run clinics on a regular 6 monthly basis.    At your consultation we include inhaler techniques, peak flow, height and weight and symptom control. 

These appointments usually take 20 mins - 40 mins and it is important that you bring your inhalers with you.
 
 
 

Clinics are usually done on every week on a Monday 9.00am – 11.30am
All new babies are invited for regular check-ups from eight weeks old.  Immunisations are sent for by Child Health Department of the local hospital.  However although clinics have set appointments, if, for any reason you can not make this appointment please contact reception early to book a more suitable time.

Our service is available for patients that require blood tests, blood pressures and wound-care.  We have clinics available on a Tuesday & Friday morning.

All blood tests are forward to Sandwell General Hospital, Pathology Department.  Results vary according to the procuedure please use the list below as a guideline,

Urine        -        5 days
Blood         -        5 days
Swabs        -        5 days
Smear        -        3 weeks
Xray            -        6 weeks

Please ensure that all your contact details are correct to enable us to contact you if Doctor or Nurse feel you need to be re-called.

If you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you can collect a travel form for each patient from Reception each weekday to discuss your travel arrangements. It is important to make this initial enquiry is early as possible - at least 9 weeks before you travel - as a second appointment maybe required. These vaccines have to be ordered via a prescription.

This will include which countries and areas within countries that you are visiting to determine what vaccinations are required. Alternatively private travel clinics are available but we are not an advocate of this.
