Dental Therapist

I qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2014 as a Dental Therapist and Dental Hygienist. After completing a foundation training year in Milton Keynes I joined Weedon Dental Practice in September 2015.

I enjoy all aspects of working as a therapist particularly helping nervous patients become more at ease with their dental treatment. I have a holistic approach to patient care and enjoy motivating and educating patients with the aim of improving their oral health. In the future I would like to do more courses to improve my skills in aesthetic dentistry within my scope of practice as a therapist.

Outside of dentistry I enjoy dancing and horse riding as well as keeping fit at the gym. I also enjoy socialising with friends, listening and playing music and baking. Having grown up on a farm its lovely to be back in a village and appreciating being back in the countryside!

Tarwinder Devgn

Dental Therapist

Tarwinder (aka) Tav, has worked at Weedon Dental Surgery over the past few years. She qualified in 2009 as a Dental Hygiene/Therapist at Birmingham University.

She has a calm and caring nature and gets great satisfaction from helping her patients overcome fears and anxieties related to dentistry. Her aim is to teach and improve her patients oral heath through evidence based care.

Tav is committed to give her patients a first class service whilst sustaining her ‘ Continued professional Development programme through her membership to societies.

Tav is married with two children her interest include reading, travelling and keeping fit.

Dr Akhil Haria

Associate Dentist

Akhil joined us in 2010 and has enjoyed his time here getting to know all the patients and staff.

He has a keen interest in restoring peoples smiles and enjoys fitting patients with crowns and bridges that they are proud of. He has a special interest in orthodontics offering fast results for adult patients with crooked or misaligned teeth.

In his spare time, he’s a keen fitness enthusiast; enjoys reading, and following Arsenal Football Club.

Akhil plans to continue to build relationships which he has developed over the years and offer the standard of patient care.

Mr Viran Patel

Associate Dentist

Viran completed his training at Peninsula Dental School and following completion of his vocational training in Northampton, joined Weedon Dental Surgery in 2015. He enjoys all aspects of dentistry and always aims to provide the highest quality of dentistry for his patients. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his young family and playing sports.

Dr Vivak Shah

Principal Dentist

Dr Shah joined the practice in 2004 as a trainee and has transitioned into an associate, then a partner and most recently a principal in December 2009.

He therefore understands the needs of the local community and knows most of the patients.

He is a member of the GDC, BDA, Royal college of surgeons and local dental committee for Northamptonshire and is involved in education and facilitation with several university institutions.

He enjoys all aspects of clinical care with a special interest in prevention, patient education implants to replace missing teeth. In addition, he has over the years developed an interest in teaching and is certified by Oxford Brooks University to teach post graduate doctors and dentists.

Outside of dentistry, he has a keen sporting interest and enjoys travelling to learn different cultures.

Karina Vara

Associate Dentist

Karina joined the practice as an associate in 2017. She has graduated from Queen Mary university of London. She enjoys all aspects of dentistry and  is looking forward to enhancing her skills in providing the best possible patient care.  She enjoys travelling to different countries and experiencing different cuisines. She loves to bake in her spare time.
