Doctor's at the practice are supported by clincal teams of dental caring professionals comprising of nurses and orthodontic therapists. These individuals assist in all aspects of patient treatment. They are registered with the GDC and have studied for qualifications that enable them to perform their respective clinical roles. Our nurses and therapists will act purely on the prescription of the orthodontist and will become familiar and friendly faces to you on your treatment visits.

Dr Amal Maizar

Specialist Orthodontist

After qualifying from Damascus University in 1992, Amal continued her education and gained a Diploma in Maxillofacial Surgery with distinction. She was part of a highly experienced team performing complex cosmetic procedures such as corrective jaw surgery, oncology and cleft lip and palate and was also involved in teaching and supervising undergraduates in the Radiology and Oral Surgery departments. She then undertook a Fellowship in Dental Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeon in Ireland and was awarded a Diploma in Clinical Dental Science with distinction from the University of London.

She undertook postgraduate training in Orthodontics at the Eastman Dental Hospital gaining a Masters degree in Science from the University of London and Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Glasgow in 2008. Amal has an extensive experience in using a wide variety of systems including the Damon System, Invisalign, and the latest technology in hidden braces (Incognito and WIN). Her clinical interests include growth modification in children and complex treatments for adults needing inter-disciplinary orthodontic and facial aesthetic treatments. She is a member of the British Orthodontic society and the British Lingual Orthodontic society.

Mr Ian Grobler

Specialist Orthodontist

Ian chose orthodontics as a route when he saw the change it made to peoples’ lives at an early stage as a dentist. Ian received his Masters degree from the University of London and the Membership in Orthodontics from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in 1998. He is registered as a specialist orthodontist with the General Dental Council.

Ian graduated in dentistry from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1990 and practiced general dentistry in Farnham, Surrey for five years.He then committed to a three year full time postgraduate orthodontic training at Guy’s Hospital, Mayday University Hospital and East Surrey Hospital. He opened his first Orthodontic Practice in Epsom in 1999, follo Guildford practice in 2004.

Mr Giulio Massimiliano Pelletti

Dental Practitioner

Giulio graduated with an Msc in Orthodontics from Warwick University in 2012. He also holds an Australian equivalent Dental Degree, having passed both parts of the Australian Dental Council examinations.

He graduated in dentistry from the university of the Witwatersrand South Africa in 2000. He subsequently managed the dental wing of the ‘George Masebe Hospital’, a rural Hospital in the northern province of South Africa.

For a year Giulio treated the underprivileged community in the Northern Province before moving to the UK, where he worked as a general dental practitioner with a special interest in Orthodontics. He worked as an Orthodontic assistant under Dr Ian Grobler for three years in Guildford, after which he became a full time associate in the practices.

Giulio underwent orthodontic treatment as a teenager and found the process fascinating. He now finds it extremely rewarding and enjoys seeing patients smile at the end of their treatment.

Giulio is an examiner in Medical Emergencies for the General Dental Council (GDC) in the Overseas Registration Examination.
