If you are intending to travel abroad, you may need travel vaccinations. 8 weeks before you travel, you will need to complete a travel questionnaire form and return it to the surgery within 7 days. Once the practice nurse has your travel details, she will research to see which vaccinations, if any, you will need. She will also check to see that your routine immunisations like tetanus and polio are up to date. If you need a yellow fever vaccination, you will need to go to an accredited yellow fever centre (a list of these can be found on the back of the travel questionnaire form). Charges for yellow fever vaccinations vary from centre to centre. If you need any vaccinations, a member of staff will contact you to inform you of this and will make the appointment. Please note that not all travel vaccinations are free of charge. If you do not allow sufficient time for this process, you may be referred to a private travel clinic and will have to pay for all vaccinations
