Dressings clinic (nurse led) - Nurse ClinicsThere are four practice nurses. General clinic appointments are available from 08:30 - 12:00 and 16:00 - 18:00 Monday to Friday.
The nurses also run specialised clinics throughout the week. These include: Well Woman, Contraception and Heart Disease Prevention, Stop Smoking Clinic, Asthma, Diabetes, Baby Immunisation and Cryotherapy (once a month).
The practice nurses are also available to give advice on general health concerns and travel advice during the emergency telephone triage sessions, including emergency contraceptive advice.
The practice offers a range of special clinics and services most medical requirements.
Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant)
The practice offer advice and councelling on which long acting contraception is suitable. IUDs (coils) and Implants are fitted in the surgery by trained GPs and Nurses
Minor injuriesNurse led clinics for treatment of minor injuries such as cuts, ulcers and removal of stiches
Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-houseRuns once a month. Takes referrals from Abernethy House Surgery GPs

PhlebotomyA team of phlebotomists works in the practice. They complete blood tests for elderly / frail / fasting patients after referral from a doctor/nurse practitioner.

Travel health with yellow feverIf you require any vaccinations relating to foreign travel you need to make an appointment with the practice nurse to discuss your travel arrangements.
