Learning disability health checkLong-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant) - Family Planning Clinic
Two of our nurses and all the doctors are trained in contraceptive care and may be seen for consultation during general appointment times. We also run a specialist nurse-led family planning clinic which is also open to patients not registered at the medical centre as a community facility. This is open on Tuesday between 4.30 and 7.30pm at the Churchill Medical Centre Kingston. No appointment necessary. Please note that cervical smears are not carried out at the family planning clinic.
One of our Practice Nurses is trained in IUD/IUS and implant insertions and removals. These are seen as separate consultations to this main Family Planning Clinic and a separate appointment will need to be made with the Nurse Practitioner
Churchill Medical Centre are an authorised Minor Surgery Centre and carry out many minor operations on site. Cryotherapy (freezing treatment) for verucae and warts is carried out by our nurse practitioner.
Churchill runs a comprehensive travel advice service.
Patients MUST first complete a travel form, which you can get from reception or our website. You will need to return the COMPLETED form to the surgery BEFORE you are able to make a travel appointment with the Practice Nurse.
Once you have returned the completed travel form to our reception team, you should wait at least 3 working days before phoning the surgery to check if you are able to make your appointment(s).
You must ensure you allow sufficient time so that you book your appointment for travel immunisations no less than 3 weeks prior to the date of travel. If you are not able to provide sufficient notice, we will not be able to book an appointment for you.
