Dr Bindi Shah

Staff

Mr Stephen Des clayes

Principal Dentist

Before moving to Sawbridgeworth I worked in a London practice and abroad as a Chief Dental Officer for a province in Papua New Guinea. This experience proved very useful when I took over the practice in 1990, as it has equipped me to continually improve both the care and quality of treatment we offer.   I am firmly committed to the practice providing NHS dentistry for all those that need it. I see children (who are registered with me) and disabled patients on the NHS, both at the practice and at their home if they require. My primary focus, however, is on private dentistry because it better enables me to pursue excellence when freed from the constraints of NHS rationing. Private dentistry allows more time for consultation, and treatment with a much wider range of materials and procedures, achieving the best possible results.   My 30 years in practice has taught me that it is possible to retain a complete and healthy set of teeth throughout the whole of your life. I see helping you achieve this as the most important part of my job. I do not believe in quick fixes that won’t last, but strive for quality results that will last a lifetime. I strongly believe the practice has a responsibility to the community we serve. We therefore support local fundraising and have developed links with Sawbridgeworth schools where we offer oral health advice to pupils. We have implemented a number of initiatives such as recycling and reducing our energy consumption to minimize our impact on the environment

Ms Dominika Badziagowska

Hygienist

I graduated from Sheffield University in 2009 with a Diploma in dental hygiene and therapy. I have made a big effort to stay at the forefront of new developments through undertaking a number of professional courses, and reading specialist journals. I enjoy working in the practice due to the fantastic team and wide variety of patients we have. We are a really friendly bunch with a great reputation, so a large majority of our patients are referred through word of mouth.   Why is it important to visit the hygienist? Lots of things that go wrong in the mouth can spread to other areas of the body. Poor oral health has also been implicated in the increased incidence of diseases such as Diabetes and Alzheimer’s. By taking a holistic approach we can help you to improve not only your teeth but also your general health.   A trip to the hygienist is a really great way to protect both your body and teeth!

Miss Shorifa Nargis

Dental Practitioner

I qualified at Queen Mary University of London in 2005, and have since taken a special interest in dentures, tooth extractions and cosmetic procedures. One of the first things I noticed when joining the practice in 2009 was the lovely friendly atmosphere. Working here is not just a job; we take a real interest in every patient and make sure to have a chat with you before starting any treatment. I have found the surgery to have a highly efficient, hardworking team. This allows everything to run smoothly and helps to keep us running on time, so you wait as little as possible.
