Dr Jeremy Asquith

NHS and Private General Dentist

Dr Asquith qualified from the Royal Dental Hospital London (which has subsequently merged with Kings College London) in 1981. Dr Asquith has worked in Ruislip for over 25 years providing a mix of NHS and private general dental care to both adults and children. Dr Asquith has been involved in the profession at both a local and national level for many years. He has been a member of the British Dental Association (BDA) since 1978 and has chaired various dental committees. His experiences include chairing the second largest branch of the BDA (Middlesex and Hertfordshire). In 2009 he chaired the national London Conference meeting of Local Dental Committees (LDC). Following this he was made an official adviser to the Minister of Health. Dr Asquith has chaired Hillingdon LDC for over 10 years.  Recently he was voted onto the Kings College London Dental Alumni Committee. In 2014 he was invited to speak at the alumni weekend, he spoke about various topics including: effective political lobbying and the current state of general NHS dentistry. Outside of dentistry, Dr Asquith enjoys dabbling in local politics. He was elected as a local Liberal Democrat Ward Councillor in 2006. In 2010 he chaired the Health debate at the Liberal Democrat Party Conference in Liverpool. Following this, he was co-opted onto the Lib Dem Parliamentary Health and Social Welfare Committee in 2012. For the last five years he has been Parliamentary Coordinator for the Federation of LDCs. He is also the current Vice Chairman of Liberal International. When Dr Asquith is not involved in dentistry or politics, his hobbies include golf, dog walking and watching rugby. He is also a talented Chess player and regularly represents England at the international email Chess Championships. Dr Asquith has been married to Nicky for over 20 years who is a local teacher and they have two grown up children, David and Sarah. Dr Asquith is the principal dentist at the practice and works full time.
