Learning disability health check
Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant) - IUDs (Coils)

IUD's are a good form of contraception. IUD's are fitted by appointment at The Cottage Surgery, Before you have a coil fitted you will need to talk with the nurse and arrange to have some vaginal swabs taken here. When you know that they are clear you will be asked to arrange for the fitting of your coil. Coils are easiest to fit whilst you are having a period so that is a good time to arrange for the fitting.

For a referral to the Good Thinking Service please call to speak to a doctor who can arrange a referral. The Good Thinking Service will then be in touch with you to arrange an appointment.
