The minor illness nurses are nurses practising in an extended role. They see patients in the surgery alongside the doctors, providing a service in areas of minor illness and health promotion and are also able to advise on general health issues.

Joanne's role within the practice is to assist the GP's in visiting patients with complex medical conditions in their own home, to manage exacerbations and review treatment plans. She will also triage home visit requests to ensure that the most appropriate clinician visits the patient. she will also help to review patients with long term conditions who cannot access the surgery.
