Anyone with asthma should have regular reviews. Please make a routine appointment with the practice nurses or GPs if you have not had an asthma check in the last year.

Getting our children immunised is essential for their wellness and that of their friends.
It can be a difficult decision sometimes but the effects of not being immunised can be devastating to oneself and also to our community. Please speak to any of the doctors or nurses if you have any doubts as to what is best. For any routine immunisations please book an appointment with our practice nurse Rebecca.

Dr Tania Schroeder, Dr Ruslana Popelyuk, Dr Fiona Ritchie and Dr Vasugi Vijayaratna are trained in coil fitting and implant insertion and would be happy to help anyone wanting to explore this as a form of contraception. Please make a normal appointment first to discuss the procedure. You will then need another double appointment for the fitting.

Several of our doctors are skilled in minor surgery. They can perform excisions of minor skin lesions such as moles, sebaceous cysts and some lipomas. There is also the skills to give steroid joint injections into shoulders and elbows to help with arthritis and tendonitis.
Please make an appointment with any doctor to discuss the options. If the doctor you see needs to refer to a colleague within the practice to perform the procedure they will do this for you.

More and more of our health problems are being caused by our being overweight. Losing weight and getting some exercise will be significantly more effective in preventing health problems than any medications your doctor can ever prescribe. Just losing as little as 10% off your weight can make huge differences in health outcomes. Julie James our Healthy Lifestyle Advisor. She has undergone unique training in supporting people through the process of changing their lifestyles in ways that are necessary to maintain a healthy weight. She will work through an individual programme with you. Initially over 8 sessions and then for as long as you need the support.
There are also Shape-Up groups which meet in our surgery on a regular basis. These groups are another excellent way to find ways to empower you to address the habits that are making you overweight. It is an hour or two every week for 8 weeks and has been well proven to be a very effective method of achievin

Privately owned London Travel Clinic provides a full range of travel advice, immunisations and medications. They are an approved Yellow Fever centre and can provide any other immunisations needed. They also stock malarone and other medications. If your needs are not covered by the NHS they aim to provide services at very reasonable prices. They are happy to provide travel services to any patients whether they are registered with Wandsworth Medical Centre or not. Please ask reception and they will be able to help with any questions.
