Dr Thomas trained at Leeds School of Medicine, qualifying in 1999. She initially started training in surgery before spending many years working in A&E. She retrained as a GP in Harrogate and has worked in practices in the Knaresborough and Harrogate area and more recently in Bradford. She became a Partner at the Practice in April 2018. She works one day a week as a Dermatology GPwSI in Bradford and also has an interest in mental health. Katie trained at Huddersfield University and qualified in 2004. She has worked in various roles such as Accident and Emergency, nursing on cruiseships and Walk in Centres. She is a nurse prescriber and can treat patients with minor illnesses and injuries. Katie is a recently qualified Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Alix studied nursing at Leeds University and qualified as a registered Nurse in 2000. She has a varied experience in Surgical Nursing, Accident and Emergency care and Minor Injury Units. She is qualified Emergency Nurse Practitioner (ENP) and in 2014 qualified as an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) through the University of Huddersfield, this allows her to see a wider range of acute and chronic conditions. Alix is also a Independent Nurse Prescriber. She joined the Practice in 2016.

Nurse Samantha McNeely

Practice Nurse

Samantha studied Adult Nursing at the University of Huddersfield and qualified in 2005. She has a background in Accident and Emergency care which is where she started her nursing career until 2010. Samantha joined the practice in 2008 as a Junior Practice Nurse. She has done Diploma's in Contraception and Sexual Health, Cytology, Asthma, Minor Injury Illness and Supporting Learning In Practice. In 2016, she became a Nurse Prescriber after completing a Diploma in Independent and Supplementary Prescribing and is now our Nurse Manager.  Samantha has recently gained the title of Queen's Nurse and was the initiator of the Play Safe Stay Safe campaign gaining funding from the Queen's Nursing Institute for this campaign.

Phlebotomy

If you are required to have a blood test, you can make an appointment with the Phlebotomist, on a Wednesday morning, here at the surgery.

Alternatively, you can collect your blood test form from reception and have your blood taken at the hospital; Huddersfield Royal Infirmary (HRI).

Opening Times: 8am – 5pm (Last admission for bloods is at 4:50pm)
8am – 11.30 am is very busy.
12pm – 2pm is quiet.
2pm – 5pm is fairly busy.
There is a late night service every Wednesday 5 – 6.30pm.
