Anticoagulant monitoring and dosing - provided in-house - Anticoagulation ClinicWe have a clinic every Wednesday run jointly by a GP and Practice Nurse or HCA. We monitor and dose patients taking Warfarin.
This service requires a referral by your GP
Asthma ClinicThe practice nurses and GP's offer Asthma checks. A check is made of inhaler technique, ongoing symptoms and medication use. We have nebulisers at the practice to help with exacerbations of Asthma and liaise with the community and hospital respiratory teams.
Patients on asthma medication should be seen at least once a year in the asthma clinic for a check up with the nurse
The practice runs a new baby clinic on Wednesday afternoons by appointment. This clinic is for new babies and involves a full 6-8 week check and (if baby 8 weeks +) immunisations. We also offer routine appointments with the practice nurse for further immunisations.
COPD clinic with spirometryThe practice nurses monitor COPD/Respiratory disease. The practice also undertakes full spirometry with reversability for diagnostic purposes.
Diabetes Clinic providing insulin initiationThe Practice Nurse alongside a Diabetes Specialist Nurse run clinics monthly for patients with diabetes who require insulin initiation and titration or who are in need of better diabetic control.

Drug and alcohol ServicesThe practice have specialist support from the primary care liaison team for patients who are identified as having an Addiction to Prescribed Medicines. We have a specialist nurse at the practice once a week (Tuesday) who can help with addiction to prescribed medicines. Please make an appointment with any GP at the practice who can refer you into the service.

Joint injectionsFour GPs offer joint injections for issues such as trigger finger/thumb, carpal tunnel, upper and lower limb (knees, elbow, shoulders) issues.

Learning disability health checkLong-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant)
The practice offers the removal and insertion of both coils (IUCD's) and contraceptive implants.

Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-houseWe have a monthly cryotherpy clinic where GP's treat verrucas, small skin tags, warts or orther suitable skin lesions. An appointment is necessary to establish if cryotherapy is appropriate. Dr Smith and Dr Wharram currently run these clinics.

PhlebotomyWe offer blood testing clinics with the HCA and practice nurses.
Primary care counselling serviceWe have Clinical Psychologists and Cognitive Behavioural Therapists based at the practice but from Springfield Hospital and IAPT. Patient can self refer or be referred into the service by a GP.

Smoking cessation clinicThe Practice Nurses and HCA run smoking cessation clinics throughout the week. They will guide and monitor you through the smoking cessation process with (if apprpriate) aids such as nicotine replacement products or Champix.
Travel health with yellow feverThe Practice Nurse runs a late evening travel clinic on a Monday evening and in general anytime during the week. We are also a registered Yellow Fever centre.
