Asthma Clinic - Asthma

If you have Asthma or COPD (chronic obstructive airways disease) our Respiratory Nurse will discuss your concerns and aspects of your condition. This will help you to gain the best control of your symptoms. She will offer lifestyle advice, expert information about medication and devices, and can provide up to date information about the latest clinical guidance and treatments.

You may be asked to take a test that measures lung function (spirometry) which will give an indication of the severity of your condition and help us to advise on best treatment plans.

Baby clinic with health visitor - Baby Clinic

This is a clinic is at our Grovebury Road site and is for babies who are well.  It is an opportunity to have baby weighed and to ask advice of the Health Visitor.  Immunisations are not available at this session, they are done by appointment only on Wednesday and Thursday mornings.  Please ring reception for details.

COPD clinic with spirometry - COPD Clinic

Learning disability health check
Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-house - Minor Surgery

It is possible to have minor surgery at the surgery after first consulting with a doctor.

This service requires a referral by your GP

Pharmacy available on-site - Dispensary Service

The Practice can dispense medication to those patients who live more than a mile (as the crow flies) away from a chemist, this is mainly those living outside the Leighton Buzzard area. Unfortunately we are unable to offer a dispensing service to patients who live within a mile (as the crow flies) of a chemist

Our Dispensary is staffed by qualified Dispensers (Monday - Friday 8.30am - 12.30pm and 2.30pm - 5.30pm) who will be able to deal with any queries you may have about your medication. Dispensary also offer telephone appointments to deal with any queries you may have, please book through reception.

Prescriptions and dispensed medication may be collected from reception when the disoensary is closed. However receptionists will not be able to deal with any medication queries.

Travel health with yellow fever

We now have a designated travel service at The Leighton Clinc where we offer appointments for all aspects of travel abroad to include, vaccinations, advice and malaria prophylaxis.

There is a charge for some vaccinations, ask Reception for details.

It is important to arrange to have your vaccinations AT LEAST 4 weeks before departure as some schedules involve more than 1 injection.

People who are not our patients can receive travel vaccinations and advice from The Leighton Clinic on a private basis.
