MB ChB, MRCGP, DGM, DCH Helen graduated from Liverpool Medical School in 1988 and after spending time with a Practice in Derbyshire moved to Bradford to get married and joined the Practice in 1997. Helen has special interest in Older People and Women’s Health. 

She has worked with the other GPs in developing the medical student teaching and the FY2 support within the practice. Helen is recognised as a GP Trainer and is now very involved with teaching the junior doctors that carry out their specialist training at the practice. Helen is mentor to one of the GP Registrars on placement at the practice. Helen is recognised by the CCG as the clinical lead for the Practice.

MB ChB, DFSRH, MRCGP Amanda graduated from Leeds Medical School in 1993 and has been associated with the practice since 1998. She then spent 2 years as a VSO in Outer Mongolia working as a GP lecturer at the Medical University of Mongolia and helped a Mongolian GP set up a non-governmental organisation to develop primary health care and to work with grass roots GPs and practice nurses. 

Amanda has special interest in Gynaecology, Obstetrics, Paediatrics, Family Planning and Sexual Health. Amanda is the lead for our Sexual Health and Contraceptive Services clinics, working alongside the practice team and community nurses. 

Amanda became a GP Trainer in August 2009 and works with the other GPs to support all the other teaching and training within the practice. Amanda is the mentor to one of the GP Registrars on placement with the practice.

I joined Bowling Hall Medical Practice in March 2003 as a Business Manager, becoming a Partner in September 2007. I have a non-medical background of 18 years spent with Yorkshire Electricity. During my time at Yorkshire Electricity I held various positions including Sales Manager, Commercial Manager and Marketing Manager. This practical management experience, combined with my MBA, which I achieved in 2004 from Leeds University Business School, has provided the business focus for the practice. I am passionate about our teamworking ethos and are committed to putting patient care at the centre of everything the practice does. With the practice and our patients working in partnership I believe we can address the health needs of our patients.

Asthma Clinic

These clinics provide regular checks for all adult patients with asthma. For children under 16 years, please consult with the GP.
Through these clinics we ensure you are receiving the most appropriate medication and treatment.

Baby clinic with health visitor

These are clinics run fortnightly on a Wednesday morning at the surgery with the health visitors, practice nurses and GPs, providing advice on keeping your baby healthy.

Child Immunisations - Baby and Child Immunisations

Our nurses provide routine immunisations to protect young children from serious childhood diseases. We can offer up-to-date advice and guidance about these immunisations.
Vaccinations - Children:   All children should be have routine vaccinations as follows:
2 months:    Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis (whooping cough), Polio, Hib & Pneumococcal
3 months:    Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib (type b) & Meningitis C
4 months:    Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Polio, Hib (type b), Meningitis C & Pneumococcal
Around 12 months:  Hib (type b), Meningitis C

COPD clinic with spirometry - Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)

To help us manage this condition, we use a spirometer (breathing test) to help diagnose, treat and monitor patients with chronic obstructive airways disease, chronic bronchitis and emphysema.

Drug and alcohol Services

New Directions is a free and confidential drug and alcohol recovery service for adults (including offenders), families and concerned others in Bradford.They can support you with any questions or concerns you might have about prescription medications, alcohol, illegal drugs, 'dual diagnosis' and mental health, steroid use and more.

They provide information, advice, treatment and support and can meet you in a range of different venues including GP surgeries, pharmacies and other local community venues.

Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-house
