Services

Asthma Clinic
On Monday evenings from 3.30 – 5.00.p.m, with doctor and nurse.  Asthmatics attend to check on inhaler technique, control of asthma cough and wheeze and a review of treatment.  Adjustments in medication may be necessary from time to time. 

Child Health Clinic
The above takes place on Fridays between 10.00 and 12 noon with members of the health visiting team, where you can receive information regarding your child’s and /or baby’s wellbeing

Child Immunisation
Friday 10.30.a.m. with two nurses.  You will be invited to attend in writing.  Please notify the receptionist if you are unable to attend so an alternative appointment can be given.
In order to reduce waiting times, appointments are booked in on appointment times and not on a first come, first served basis. 
Once a month an additional pre-school booster clinic is held on a Monday afternoon.

C.O.P.D. Clinic
Aimed at people who have C.O.P.D. with a view to increase their awareness about C.O.P.D. and to decrease morbidity and mortality from the disease.  During their visits patients are seen by a nurse followed by the doctor.  A call and recall system operates for this clinic.

Counselling
We have access through the PCT to this service.  One of their counsellors works at this practice.

Smoking Cessation Service
This practice is part of a nation-wide initiative to help patients stop smoking to minimise the risks of diseases such as lung, throat and mouth cancers and heart disease.  Contact the surgery for an appointment.

Adult and Travel Immunisation
These vaccines are given by the practice nurses.  We offer a full range of travel vaccines including yellow fever.  Please allow at least 8 weeks before travel and see the practice nurse.   For any preliminary advice on travel vaccinations refer to www.fitfortravel.scot.nhs.uk .
 
Routine tetanus boosters are not necessary if you have had 5 doses (the normal child and school course involves 5 injections for tetanus).
