Anticoagulant monitoring and dosing - provided in-house - Anticoagulant/Warfarin

Asthma and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) patients are encouraged to understand their disease and their treatment. They are also taught how to monitor their well being at home by the use of a peak flow meter (a simple device to record breathing).
Spirometry is also performed regularly to check patients' lung function.

In conjunction with the health visitors and practice nurses, the practice aim to ensure the well being of children up to the age of 5 years. The doctor will carry out the “6 week check” in the surgery and the health visitor will monitor further development. Please feel free to discuss any worries or queries relating to childhood vaccinations. Parents are encouraged to ensure their children are fully immunised including MMR.

Baby Clinic is run jointly with Health Visitor and Dr K Alauddin on Monday Morning for routine and developmental check-ups. Please contact the receptionist for further information

This service deals with surgical removal of lumps, etc under local anaesthesia, injection of joints, thus saving a visit to the Hospital.

We encourage prevention of disease by healthy eating habits. Simple modification to your diet and lifestyle can give years of disease free life.

Patients, who are on regular blood tests because of Warfarin or methotrexate therapy, please remember to bring your booklet along to the clinic.
Please remember that it is your responsibility to telephone for your results which should be available to us a week after the test.

We encourage patients to give up smoking and, offer full support and advice during a six week planned programme. Please see the nurse for details.
