Dr Shazia Ovaisi

Dr Ovaisi qualified from Barts and The London Hospital in 2002. After successfully completing a medical rotation at Kings College London and obtaining her Membership of The Royal College of Physicians (MRCP), Dr Ovaisi decided to pursue a career in General Practice. Born and bred in north London, Eva went up to the Midlands for university and graduated from the University of Birmingham Medical School in 2012 with MbChB with first degree honours. As part of her medical degree, she has been able to spend some time working in Savusavu, Fiji and travelled around New Zealand where she is keen to go back to.

After doing a degree in Social Anthropology, Tor then started working with drugs users and their families. She has 3 children and lives locally. Sandra Reeves has worked in NHS management since 1992. She was a business manager at Kings College Hospital in Pathology and then Paediatrics before joining the Thurleigh Road Practice in 1996 as Practice Manager. During her time at the practice, Sandra has completed an MSc in Health Service Management and has successfully led the practice to achieve Investors in People status. Sandra manages all non-clinical aspects of the practice with particular involvement in staff, business and financial management. She is married with two daughters. She became a partner at the practice in 2006.

All newborn babies are seen when they are 8 weeks’ old for a full developmental check by a GP. A practice nurse will then check the baby’s growth and give the first immunisations. For your convenience, we combine this baby check with the mother’s post-natal check up.
Health visitors carry out ‘8 month checks’ by appointment on Thursday afternoons at the surgery, followed by a walk-in baby clinic for weighing and general advice from 2.00 – 3.30 pm.
The Senior Clinical Administrator will arrange these appointment for you.
