Child health and development - Childrens Mental Health ServiceAll Children's and Adolescent Mental Health Services across Southend, Essex and Thurrock are now called:
Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health Service (EWMHS)
This service is for 0-18 year olds and young people with Special Educational Needs up to age 25.
Any young person experiencing emotional , wellbeing or mental health problems, or any parent, guardian, teacher of a child who is experiencing these difficulties may access this service by calling 0300 300 1600 9am-5pm Monday-Friday.
For out of hours and weekend crisis support call 0300 555 1201. Accessible 24 hours, 365 days of the year.
We offer all child vaccinations as they become due.
The Doctor must be on the premises when giving child vaccinations.
On receiving your reminder from Child Health Department giving you an approximate
'due date', please book an appointment with the practice nurse.
Our Practice Nurse has clinics at any time on her clinic days. She also provides support for those diabetics that are not on insulin.
Joint injectionsIf the GPs believe this to be beneficial they can carry out steroid joint injections within the surgery.
Learning disability health checkMinor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-house

PhlebotomyPatients can now get blood tests at this surgery.
Primary care counselling service - INCLUSION THURROCKPlease call 01375-898680 for a telephone assessment.
Patients can self refer to Inclusion Thurrock, who offer a range of talking therapies for people experiencing low mood, depression or problems with anxiety. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and counselling.
They also provide access to bereavement support services, peer support and practical support with employment, debt, benefits and housing issues.
This service requires a referral by your GP
Smoking cessation clinicWe encourage all patients who smoke to give up.
Our Practice Nurse is trained in Smoking Cessation. Appointments can be booked at any time. The first appointment is for 30 minutes. Follow up appointments are 15 minutes.
The GPs can also refer patients to the Thurrock Healthy Lifestyle Service. This is run by Thurrock Council. Patients can also self-refer on 0800 292 2299 or email publichealth@thurrock.gov.uk
If patients are considering travelling abroad they can complete our travel vaccination form. There is a £5 administration fee for each patient, payable when handing in the completed forms at reception.
Our Practice Nurse will check the records and then advise if any vaccinations are needed. Prescriptions (where needed) and appointments can then be booked with the Nurse, preferably at least 6 weeks prior to travel.
WE DO NOT GIVE YELLOW FEVER VACCINATIONS AT THIS SURGERY. Patients must contact a Travel Clinic for this vaccination. The nearest Travel Clinic to our surgery is 'travelhealthUK', 2 Mount Avenue, Shenfield, Essex, CM13 2NL. Tele: 01277-200169.
