Amanda sits on a national body called the NHS Alliance and sees part of her role as putting Eastbourne and its patients at the top of Government Agendas. She works as a Specialist Advisor for the CQC and is passionate about Patient and Public Involvement in Health

Anticoagulant monitoring and dosing - provided in-house

The practice provides INR (International Normalised Ratio) readings for patients who are taking Warfarin and this avoids the patient having to attend the hospital for this care.

Asthma Clinic

Patients with long-term conditions such as Diabetes, Asthma and COPD can attend clinics to ensure that the best control possible is maintained for these conditions. Please enquire at the surgery office for details of days/times.

Child Immunisations

Child immunisations begin at the age of two months and appointments will be sent by the Child Health Department.

Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant)

We offer many contraceptive services including coil fittings and implants. Please contact the surgery for further information.

Minor injuries

This is performed by all clinicians within their normal surgery times and in
addition we run regular specialist clinics.

Minor surgery (e.g. removal of moles and skin lesions) - provided in-house

These clinics are run from our Ian Gow site. Your GP will put you on the waiting list and we will contact you regarding an appointment.

We run a blood taking service at our Practice on referral from your GP, a request from the hospital if you have the blood form or if you have a received a letter from us inviting you for a blood test.

We offer help and advice for those patients who wish to stop smoking. Please ask at reception for more details about these clinics.

Travel health with yellow fever

It is important that you take responsibility for your vaccinations. Therefore, in order to give you a fully comprehensive service and to protect you adequately for your journey, we request that you follow the procedure below:
• Request a travel form from reception at least eight weeks prior to travel, complete the form and hand to reception (at least four weeks prior to travel) giving full details of exact locations that you are visiting
• Book a travel consultation appointment by phone or in person. It is your responsibility to do this.
• On arrival for your appointment, pay for your vaccinations. Not all vaccines are available on the NHS. You will be told the cost of your travel vaccinations either when you call to book your appointment or when you come to the surgery (depending on when you hand in your form).
All payments must be made before the vaccines are administered.
