Regular monitoring is offered to patients to assist them in the management of the condition, with the aim of keeping them in good health.

If you wish to have an IUD fitted, please make a telephone appointment with either Dr Averill or Dr Morris. They will then advise you on what is available, precautions you need to take, and will book an appointment that fits in with your monthly cycle. 

Dr Averill fits IUD's on a Wednesday afternoon and Dr Morris fits IUD's on a Monday morning.

This service requires a referral by your GP

Minor surgery carried out at the surgery can avoid long waits at the hospital. A large variety of conditions can be dealt with quickly using modern sterile equipment. Please make an appointment with your own doctor or the Practice Nurse first. They will then refer you to Dr Kirk-Smith or Dr Koshal accordingly.

Minor Surgery clinics take place at Clanricarde on alternate Thursday and Friday morning between 8.50am - 11.00am.

This service requires a referral by your GP

If you require a blood test, your GP will refer you to the Phlebotomist, who attends the surgery on the following days:
Tuesday 8:30 - 12;00
Thursday 8:30 - 11:30
Friday 8:30 - 12:00

The first few appointments are reserved for those patients requiring a fasting blood test.

Smoking is still the largest preventable cause of ill health in this country, especially cancer, heart and lung disease. The Practice can refer you for smoking cessation advice, supplemented by nicotine replacement therapy where appropriate.

NONE OF THE DOCTORS, NURSES OR STAFF IN THIS PRACTICE SMOKES.

The surgery holds a comprehensive Travel Clinic service through the Practice Nursing Service. Nurses offer individual assessments of travel risks and offer appropriate vaccinations including Anti-Malarial.

There are charges for some vaccinations and travel certificates provided, based on fees recommended by the BMA and NHS. Payment by cash or cheque is required PRIOR to the vaccinations being given.

Please make an appointment with the nurse UP TO SIX WEEKS BEFORE TRAVEL. This ensures that you have adequate cover prior to travel.
