I started out working in care just over 10 years ago as a Kitchen Assistant, I worked my way up to becoming Head Chef within my first 3 years of working there and I worked there for 10 years. It was not just my job I was going to every day, it was like going home to my 2nd family. The experience and opportunities that were given to me have helped me achieve the role I have today. I have only been working for Gracewell for a month and I already have made it feel like a new home with a new family. I live in West Bromwich with my family and, in my spare time, my youngest daughter and I bake for the elderly people who live on our estate, a place that we have known for over 20 years.

Mr Samantha Elwell

Deputy Manager

Hi, I'm Sam, inclusive of training I have worked in care and within Nursing from 2009. During Training I had the opportunity to work on critical care and the military ward at Queen Elizabeth hospital where I gained specialist skills in cleaning and dressing wounds and amputations caused during war time conflict. During an elective, I chose to work in Malta at the Mater Dei Hospital where I worked on A&E utilising a Lucas machine for resus and integrated into their system to take emergency calls. I gained experience in oxygen therapy under pressure to promote wound healing in decompression chamber also used for divers.

Prior to becoming Deputy manager I was working as a clinical lead here at Gracewell from October 2016. I am so very passionate about my job and give my 110% for all residents and their families. Home Administrator

My role at Gracewell consists of recruitment, payroll and staffing. I previously worked in Administration with children for 6 years and moved on to work for a care home for 4 years and have been with Gracewell since February 2017. I very much enjoy my role at Gracewell and I am keen to get the right staff for our home to give our residents the best quality of life.

Ms Natasha Phillips

Activities Coordinator

Hi I'm Tasha, I previously worked as an activity co-ordinator in another care home and before that, I worked with disabled adults to give them the best quality of life. My passion is working with the elderly. It is so rewarding to see residents getting involved in activities they didn't even know they would enjoy and It makes me happy to see them happy. The aim of my job is to entertain and keep residents mind, body and soul stimulated! I consider myself to be very bubbly and affectionate, if you have any ideas, please feel free to share them with me.

Hello My name is Zoe and I am the Home Manager at Gracewell Edgbaston. I have been a Registered Nurse for 16 years and had 10 years care home experience too. I am very open and honest and welcome any feedback you would like to share. I enjoy spending time with my family, I have one daughter and my favourite place in the world is Cornwall.
