Miss Emily Carter

Dentist

Emily graduated in 2018 from the University of Leeds with a distinction in her joint Masters and Bachelor degree. Following this, she worked in Hereford and Leeds before joining the Wibsey practice in 2020. Emily likes the variety that general dental practice offers and enjoys getting to know her patients so she can provide the best care for them. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, baking and spending time with family and friends.

Mr William Johnston

Dentist

Will qualified from the University of Birmingham in 2017 and straight away joined the Rayners as Tom’s newly qualified dentist. He spent a year at the Whetley Lane practice and also joined the Wibsey practice in September 2018 where he now works the majority of the week. Will loves getting to know his patients and putting them at their ease. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry but particularly some of the more cosmetic treatments, including composite bonding and whitening. Will is going on courses regularly to continue his professional development in all fields of dentistry.

Outside of the surgery, Will enjoys walking in the Dales with his parents (and Labrador!), cycling with his three brothers (and Tom!), and playing cricket in the summer. He is also into his music and plays both the guitar and ukulele.

Laura Marshall

Dental Therapist

Laura joined the practice in September 2017 following her graduation from the University of Leeds in 2016 with a Distinction.

As a Therapist, she is able to provide all forms of cleaning, maintenance and stain removal appointments, which help to keep patients’ mouths healthy and fresh. She can also perform deeper gum treatments that help to stabilise gum disease.  She is able to provide fillings in adult and children’s teeth along with whitening.

She has a cheerful and friendly approach and likes to spend time ensuring that our patients are put at ease. She is very passionate about dental care and has a radio show once a month called Talking Teeth to Promote Dental Health.

Outside of work, she enjoys learning new things. She is currently attending tap classes.

Mrs Alison Rayner

Dental Practitioner

John and Alison trained together at Manchester Dental School and graduated in December 1982. They moved to Bradford in 1983 to start work as associate dentists for the next three years. In 1986 they bought a group of three small practices and Rayner Dental Practice was ‘born’. Their vision was to create a family centred practice where patients would feel at ease. Prevention of dental disease has been an important part of this goal. With this in mind the Wibsey practice was chosen by the Department of Health to be a pilot practice for the development of a new dental contract. John and Alison have developed and managed the practices themselves. Alison achieved a Diploma in Leadership & Management in 2011 from the FGDP.

Outside of dentistry John and Alison enjoy cycling, ballroom dancing and spending time with their grandchildren.

Mr Thomas Rayner

Dentist

Tom grew up in Queensbury, West Yorkshire. He qualified as a dentist in 2008 from Manchester with Honours. After spending his vocational training year in Bradford, he spent 4 years working in Colne, East Lancashire. During this time, he completed the prestigious MJDF and also a postgraduate certificate in clinical education at the University of Central Lancashire. He has also completed other postgraduate courses including tooth whitening and white fillings. Tom is committed to postgraduate training and believes very strongly in continuing education.

He joined Rayner Dental practice in 2013. For the past 5 years, Tom has been a trainer and mentor for newly qualified dentists on behalf of the Yorkshire and Humber Postgraduate deanery. In 2018, Tom became a provider for short term orthodontics (Quick Straight Teeth) and enjoys carrying out simple cosmetic work for his patients.

Outside of dentistry, Tom spends much of his time with his young family and riding his bike. He can be regularly seen riding to work or over the Yorkshire hills! He is also an avid football fan.

Mr Samarth Shetty

Dentist

Samarth joined the practice in 2019 following his graduation from Barts in London. He enjoys all aspects of general dentistry and patient care whilst taking an invested interest in oral health. He aims to deliver the most up to date and best quality treatment. Samarth grew up in Bradford and enjoys practicing the piano and playing basketball.
