Services

Our experienced practice nurse team provide a Level 4 anti-coagulation monitoring service to our registered patients and those of another local practice. Clinics are held on Mondays.

This service requires a referral by your GP

Asthma suffers can book in to see our Respiratory Lead Nurse for advice and support in asthma care and other respiratory problems.  Clinics are held on Wednesdays.

Our Health Visitor provides support to families with children under the age of 5.  She is able to offer advice on all aspects of health and childcare.  The Health Visitor holds weekly child health clinics at Sydenham Family Centre.

We undertake a range of minor surgical procedures.  These include the removal of skin lesions, ingrowing toe nails and vasectomies.  This is a fully accredited service with referrals also taken from other local surgeries

This very successful service is provided by our Health Care Assistant. Following initial assessment to identify any possible medical cause or affect such as diabetes or polycystic ovary syndrome, patients are offered simple advice on good food choices, portion control and exercise, as well as looking at their food diaries to offer effective changes that would be sustainable.

Alongside this we host fortnightly Health Walks to encourage patients to increase activity levels. Health Walks take place on Wednesday lunchtimes - please contact the surgery for details of our next walk.

For those patients travelling abroad we provide a full travel health service including vaccination.  Note: - We are not currently a yellow fever centre.

The Practice has hosted a Young Person's drop in clinic at Bridgwater College for over 15 years. Our practice nurse-led service provides a comprehensive range of services to students at the College including:-

A range of contraceptive care - condoms, oral contraceptive pill, depo injection and implants, free pregnancy testing, emergency contraception and unplanned pregnancy support and information,
