Dr Louise Harper

Director

Louise carried out her undergraduate training at University College Hospital in London, qualifying in 1989 and was awarded the Alfred Sinclair Medal in her final year. She spent the next three years gaining experience in the fields of oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine and orthodontics at a variety of London hospitals including UCH, St. Mary’s and the Eastman Dental Institute. During this time she became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Eng). She commenced her specialist orthodontic training in 1993, acquiring her MSc in 1995 and Membership in Orthodontics (Eng and Edin) in 1996.

Louise provides a wide variety of treatment for both children and adults at The Orthodontic Centre (Reading) Ltd. Her special interests include adult orthodontics and multidisciplinary cases. She is very experienced in all types of conventional appliance treatment, including Invisalign aligners and Incognito lingual appliances.

Throughout her career Louise has been an active committee member. She chairs the Berkshire Local Orthodontic Committee and sits on the Thames Valley Managed Clinical Network, in addition to the Berkshire Local Dental Committee. She was treasurer of the Orthodontic Specialist Group of the British Orthodontic Society for five years and sat on council during this time. She was presented with a Special Service Award by the British Orthodontic Society in 2011.

Dr Craig Harper

Director

Craig Harper carried out his undergraduate training at Birmingham Dental Hospital, qualifying in 1982. He became a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1986 and gained experience in the fields of oral and maxillofacial surgery, oral medicine, orthodontics and restorative dentistry in the hospital setting and general practice prior to undertaking specialist orthodontic training at Guy's Hospital.

He attained his MSc, DOrth and MOrth in 1991, accrediting as a consultant orthodontist in 1995. He worked at the Royal Berkshire and West Berkshire Community Hospitals from 1996 until 2013 where he educated postgraduate students, treated complex cases, advised referring practitioners and was involved in cleft lip and palate and surgical cases.

Craig is a partner at The Briars Dental Centre specialising in adult orthodontics and multi-disciplinary cases.

On a personal level Craig lives in Berkshire with his wife and two young children.

Dr Yann Taddei

Associate Orthodontist

Following the completion of his undergraduate dental degree (B.Ch.D, Leeds) in 1996, Dr Yann Taddei furthered his interest in orthodontics and gained the M.Sc. Ortho (2001) from the Eastman Dental Hospital. He has been part of The Orthodontic Centre (Reading) Ltd team since 2001 taking great pride and satisfaction in transforming the smiles of the patients he has cared for. As the science and technology of orthodontics advances, Dr Yann Taddei keeps abreast of these changes as part of his continuing professional development to provide the best care for his patients.

Dr Sama Williams

Associate Orthodontist

Sama completed her undergraduate training at Bristol University qualifying in 2004. She went on to gain her Membership (Faculty of Dental Surgery) of the Royal College of Surgeons, whilst training as a Senior House Officer in Restorative Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery. Sama subsequently undertook three years of postgraduate training in Orthodontics at King’s College and St Georges Hospitals in London. During this time she completed the MSc in Orthodontics at the University of London, being awarded the Philip Walther Prize for her achievements in the Masters examination. She then went on to gain the Membership in Orthodontics of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) and is registered by the General Dental Council as a Specialist in Orthodontics.

Dr Saurab Virdi

Associate Orthodontist

Saurab joined Reading Orthodontics in 2018. He has completed both diplomas for the prestigious Membership of the Joint Dental Faculties of the Royal College of Surgeons of England and Edinburgh. He undertook his specialist training in Orthodontics at Guy’s Hospital and St Georges whilst simultaneously completing his Masters degree from Kings College london.

He has presented and published his research and work at conferences both locally and regionally and has a particular interest in facial anthropometry. When free he enjoys going to the gym and spending time with his wife and son.
