Services

Asthma Clinic

We aim to provide continued monitoring and care of asthma patients, and help them to improve self–management. Appointments are offered to all patients with asthma to attend for annual review with the practice nurse. Children with asthma are reviewed on a more regular basis depending on the severity of their asthma, appointments are given every three to six months. Where appropriate, respiratory tests are performed to confirm the diagnosis and continually monitor progress using computerised vitalographic equipment. Patients can have their peak flow and inhaler techniques reviewed and get up to date information about new medications. Patients are advised to bring all their medicines/inhalers and anything else that they use with them.

Child health and development

The practice in conjunction with the Health Visitors undertakes the child health development checks. At the first development check we arrange for the mum to have her post-natal check by the Doctor and the baby will receive their first immunization. Patients will be invited by letter to attend for the child development checks. All children under school age are enrolled to have regular reviews.

Child Immunisations

Childhood immunisations are given at 2, 3 and 4 months, to protect small babies from whooping cough, tetanus, diphtheria, polio, HIB meningitis and meningococcal meningitis C. Booster immunization is also offered to pre-school and 15 year old children. Patients will be invited by letter to attend.
