Services

The practice nurses, Jeanette Saunders and Dani Young, run INR clinics - the days of these are flexible. Appointments can be booked through reception (by telephone or in person). The clinic is a 'one-stop shop' - patients are given their INR result and Warfarin dosage during their appointment with the nurse.
These appointments are also available for internet booking by those patients registered to use the on-line service.

Cathy O'Brien offers a Respiratory Clinic for patients with Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease and complex asthma.  Jeanette sees patients with a diagnosis of asthma.  Both nurses can give advice on the appropriate use of inhalers and inhaler technique.

The Practice Nurses provide childhood immunisations in line with the national vaccination schedule.

All diabetic patients are offered an annual review appointment at the diabetes clinics run by the Practice. This includes a pre diabetic appointment with the Health Care Assistants to include Blood tests and Blood Pressure as well as all the appropriate checks.

An appointment for review of all your results will be given with one of our highly trained Diabetic Nurses Jeanette Saunders and Danielle Young. During this appointment an individualised personal diabetic care plan will be discussed and agreed for the year ahead. Eye screening for diabetic retinopathy is offered on an annual basis - the location of this service varies.

The Practice Nurses run a weekly Ulcer Clinic on Tuesday mornings to treat people who have leg ulcers. All the nurses undertake dressings in general clinics throughout the week.

The practice offers a minor surgery clinic monthly on a Saturday morning. This is led by Mr Trevor Viegas, an Associate Specialist in Plastic Surgery. Mr Viegas removes lesions and undertakes some injections.

This service requires a referral by your GP

The practice offers a limited phlebotomy serv ice for those patients whose mobility or health status prevents them from attending one of the clinics offered at the local hospitals. The service is available for the first part of the morning, from Monday to Friday.

Practice Nurse Jeanette Saunders runs a weekly Travel Clinic on Wednesday mornings in term time. Our nurses are unable to answer travel immunisation queries over the telephone as this is a complex service that requires longer appointments.
