Mrs Sarah Eves

General Manager

I have been a qualified nurse for 23 years for local hospitals. I have a varied background to my nursing career starting in a surgical high dependency unit. Following this I became the manager for an acute assessment unit for medical and surgical conditions. Within this unit I would assess a person clinical needs and initiate treatments prior to the doctors assessments. This gave me valuable experience to take upon the role of site manager for the hospital out of hours. I was the most senior person within the hospital managing the capacity and flows through the system, and also being 1st assessor to a deteriorating patient.

My most recent and senior role was as frailty matron for an intermediate care setting. I worked in partnership with the CCG to give integrated care to non acute patients who required ongoing rehabilitation. The purpose of the unit was to promote the persons well-being and assess them to transfer back to a community setting. I have a strong background of dementia care and was trained in this specialism by NHS London. One of my most rewarding events to date was to be commended by Kings college hospital for my outstanding contribution to care.

I am strongly passionate within dementia and frailty. I believe everyone should be shown dignity and respect each individuals wishes. My team is classed as my staff, residents and families. We all work together to achieve the best outcome.

Move In Coordinator

I am one of the newest members of the team and am very excited to be the Move-In Co-Ordinator at Leah Lodge and Rectory Court. My job involves promoting our luxurious Care Homes in Blackheath, carrying out show-rounds, preparing the necessary paperwork for new move-ins, being the point of contact for relatives and residents and ensuring that everyone is happy. I love my job and it draws all of my previous work experience together. In recent years, I have been a live-in manager at an independent living retirement development, in Margate, and was responsible for 96 flats of residents over the age of 60. This was a very challenging job and after 18 months I left to fulfil a lifelong dream of travelling the World. I visited 9 countries in 3 continents over 10 months in 2017/2018 - Thailand, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, India, Fiji, America and Canada. It was an amazing adventure and I have ticked off lots of things from my “bucket list” including swimming with wild dolphins and turtles, snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef and a helicopter ride over Ayers Rock at sunrise! When I returned from my travels, I worked for 3 months as “bank staff” for the NHS, based at the Community Mental Health Team in Sittingbourne. I have since moved back to London and was appointed as Move-In Co-Ordinator in December 2018. My journey from home to works takes just 7 minutes and I am really enjoying being back in South East London, where I was born and living close to my family and friends. In my spare time, I enjoy yoga, walks with my dog (Mrs Doyle), DIY and anything creative, so I love arts and crafts too.

I am overjoyed to be part of the Leah Lodge team. I am really excited to watch this home be successful and most of all see the residents be delivered excellent care and live in the luxury accommodation we offer.

Being part of the team from the beginning gives me great pleasure in getting to know the residents and their families and show the pride and passion we hope to deliver to Leah Lodge at all times.

My working background has been working within the care industry for just over 4 and half years now having varied roles. These range from working in the Support Office delivering general support to the homes when they were under pressure, completing payrolls, purchase ledger, sales and finance. Whilst completing these varied roles the best part is being out visiting the homes, helping the employees and mainly caring for the residents which is what brings me to work as an administrator at Leah Lodge.

Mrs Jessica Tettey

Home Admissions Advisor

I joined the team at Leah Lodge in April 2019. Having worked in care for the past four years it I am very excited to be the Home Admissions Advisor.

Originally I am from Wirral in Cheshire where I was an Estate Agent, in 2015 myself and my husband relocated to Essex for his job, later moving to SE London to be closer to family just before we got married and had our son in 2018.

I work with a wonderful and highly experienced team here at Leah Lodge.

I feel very lucky to do this role as I get to help families throughout the journey of choosing a care home, which can often be very emotional.

Mrs Cherrie Williams

Head of Housekeeping

I am proud to be Head Housekeeper in Leah Lodge.

I have over 12 years’ experience in a care home environment and before that in 4-5 star hotels.

Myself and my highly-experienced team, are really enjoying making sure that very high standards are maintained, so that residents, visitors and staff have a clean, safe, welcoming environment to live in, visit and work.

I enjoy music, eating out and walking my dog Edna.
