Services
Asthma ClinicThese are clinics for people diagnosed with either asthma or COPD. It’s important you come to these clinics so we can keep an eye on your health– even if you feel fine. The assistant practitioner carries out a complete review and the GP reviews your medication.
Child health and developmentYour baby will be invited to attend our Baby Clinic when he/she is 6-8 weeks old. These clinics run on Wednesday mornings by the GP who will assess the health and development of your baby and record it in their Red Book.
The Practice Admin team will provide you with this appointment as soon as your baby is registered at the Practice. If this is not done please contact the surgery to arrange an appointment for your child. Please remember to bring your Red Book.
This is a clinic run by the doctors and nurses – on a Wednesday morning. Immunisations are given. Developmental checks are done on babies. Please do not bring ill babies to this clinic – it is to check over well babies. For unwell babies, please ring the surgery on the day to see a doctor. Of course, if you feel your baby is not developing well, then by all means, bring them to this clinic, to book this appointment please contact reception.
COPD clinic with spirometryThis is a simple test that is carried out by the assistant practitioner and is used to help diagnose and monitor certain lung conditions such as COPD and Asthma. The assistant practitioner will measure how much air you can breathe out in one forced breath.

Dressings clinic (nurse led)Within the surgery we provide wound care and advice. This is carried out by the Nurse or Advanced Nurse Practitioner or Assistant Practitioner under supervision of the Practice Nurse or Advanced Nurse Practitioner. If you require this service please contact the surgery in advance (when advised by the hospital).
Flu ClinicThis is a clinic which we hold for patients from September to November for those patients who are over 65's and those who suffer from chronic medical conditions such as asthma, COPD or diabetes etc.
Hormonal injections/implantsThe nurse can provide this service if a hospital consultant has requested this as part of your ongoing care plan.
Joint injectionsThe GP provides a joint injection service within the surgery. If a clinician feels you would benefit from a joint injection then you will be referred into this Specialised Clinic. The admin team will arrange an appointment with you and inform you of available appointment times.

Learning disability health checkPatients with Learning Difficulties are invited for a full health check including blood pressure and blood tests if necessary.
Long-Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC - eg IUD or implant)This is a service held in the surgery including coils/implants. All doctors and nurses provide general contraception advice. In addition to this we offer a full contraception service including the contraceptive pill, Depot injections, Coil (IUD and IUS) and implant (Nexplanon) fitting services which are carried out by our female GP and Advanced Nurse Practitioner.

Obesity management clinicThe Practice is now offering weight management support to patients with a high body mass index (BMI). This is available for patients over 18 years old who are not receiving any support/intervention from the practice or other service providers. The appointments are 20 minutes long. Please book an appointment with the assistant practitioner.

Phlebotomy - Blood taking clinicIf you require a blood test these can be booked to be done at the Practice. All tests must be requested first by a Doctor or Nurse or another Clinician.
Smoking cessation clinicThis is run by our assistant practitioner who is able to provide accurate information and advice, as well as professional support, during this time. If required we can find affordable and tailored advice and treatments. We can also refer you onwards to another service if required. We provide regular reviews to monitor your progress. If you would like to make an appointment to stop smoking please arrange an appointment with the receptionist.
Travel health with yellow fever - Yellow Fever vaccinesThe Practice is a Registered Yellow Fever Vaccination Centre and offers Yellow Fever Vaccinations to travellers who require a Certificate for travel. Please note that charges apply. Please call the surgery on 01274 521111 for further information.
Travel health without yellow feverThis is a service which we provide on Mondays and Wednesdays and they are held by the Practice Nurse. Please inform the Receptionist of where you are travelling to and when so that the Nurse can help you best. The Practice Nurse can also give advice over the phone if necessary when vaccinations are not required. Please arrange these appointments at least four weeks before you plan to travel. Please note – some vaccinations carry a charge and some prescriptions also carry a charge. Please contact the surgery for advice about charges or further information.
